I have been an art director for more than a decade before I dipped my toe in UX design. It just seems to be a natural transition for me when I wanted to do something different but still related to design. In 2004, I completed my visual design education in New York City and I have been fortunate to have the opportunities to fulfil one of my dreams—to have lived in at least three different continents. As I habitually do not turn down any opportunity to go on an adventure, it has taken me from Hong Kong, Boston, New York City, London and now, Stockholm.
My work as an art director has broadened my experience in brand and product concept building, cross-functional collaboration and creating visual solutions for various stakeholders. The thinking process behind each project is what I find the most compelling. Designing with purpose and creating content that resonates is what I strive for as a creative.
In this assignment, I was asked to design a new social feature that embeds within the current Spotify platform in iOS mobile devices. The goal is to drive users' engagement socially and emotionally that is centred around music.
VIEW CASE STUDYThe topic of food waste has been a rising issue over the years. This is an intuitive, easy-to-use solution that allows the food industry to connect to non-profit organisations and charities to donate their food surplus to those who are in need.
VIEW CASE STUDYThe task for this assignment is to design a responsive e-commerce website for Gamla Stans Cykel—a family-owned bike shop located in the oldest parts of Stockholm. The challenge is their lack of a consistent digital presence, and it was crucial to bridge their customer experience between their store and online platform.
VIEW CASE STUDYWell, I guess it’s time to begin another adventure in switching my design gears. UX design and graphic design are similar in many ways, especially in user-centred design principles. It feels natural to me in applying what I already knew in graphic design and expand it further in user experience design.
Combining my background as an art director with my recent journey in user experience design, I believe that any user-centred design problem can be accomplished through a holistic approach. I would like to take on opportunities in creating solutions with functional purposes, designing products that attend to our everyday needs and collaborating with professionals possessing a diverse skill set, to build viable solutions and successful products while being excited and having fun doing it!
I am open to any freelance project or possible employment opportunities.
